The Stained Glass Zone

Stained glass has always fascinated me. I remember the time when I was a little child. My family lived in the UK for a few years. Every Sunday, we went to church. This particular church was very old, very beautiful and had intricate stained glass windows. Every Sunday as I sat in church, I would study the different stained glass windows. Each window had a unique picture which represented a bible story. I would look at all the beautiful colors and all the new colors that were formed when the glass overlapped. I would look at the rays of sunlight falling on the glass and how it scattered. I would dream about the people who patiently set the tiny pieces of glass to give that effect. The windows kept me mesmerized through the entire service.

Ever since, I've been in love with stained glass. When we built our new house, I made sure that our bedroom windows were all stained glass. Now every morning I'm woken up by the beautiful light effect caused by rays of light falling through the stained glass windows. I imagine this is what it would be like to wake up in heaven.
