The Stained Glass Zone

We have a closed in deck that we sit in so we can look out over the water. Given the way the trees sit around our cabin, we chose to go with decorative glass. At first my husband was skeptical but I insisted. When the decorative glass windows were installed, he had to admit he was impressed. The way the branches of the trees align around, the sun seems to peek through in the day time in an almost teasing manner. It makes the deck quite peaceful. At night the moon does its own dance around our closed in deck and plays a game with the entire room as well.

When the weather is clear we do love to sit out on the deck by our boat but being in Texas we have more than our share of summer storms and that is when we take advantage of our enclosed deck. We also like it in the heat of the hot Texas afternoon as well.

Being a writer, I really enjoy just sitting there and sometimes the decorative glass seems to just reach out and speak to me, inspiring a little story to come out. I've written several stories while sitting there that I don't think I would have written anywhere else. It is as if I can look up and the decorative glass translate something to my soul. It's as inspiring as any moonlit night or sunshiny day. Come join us sometime and see what you think.
