stained glass, stained glass panelMy parents live on the upper floor of a large town house. The top of their landing does not have a window to let in any natural light. Hence there is a gap or hole just above the door in the room that was once my bedroom. This gap is there to allow some light to filter into the landing area.
I was talking to my mother on the phone last week and she told me she intends to get a stained glass panel to fit into the gap. She asked me if I thought that it would be a good idea to put a stained glass panel there and I told her I did. You see although that gap does provide some light to my parents’ landing it is a little bit of an eyesore because it is just a space with nothing in it.
When my mother fills that space with stained glass it will seal the gap and make it look attractive while still allowing some light to get through to the landing. In fact an attractive stained glass panel will make the whole landing look prettier, especially where the colored light reflects against the wall. I look forward to seeing what the stained glass panel looks like when I visit my parents in Britain soon.
