The latest trend to resurface in interior design for homes is actually – and not surprisingly – stained glass windows. Traditionally, stained glass is an art form that originated hundreds upon hundreds of years ago. It was initially used in churches and other places of worship, as well as castles and houses of nobility. Today, many churches still incorporate stained glass windows into their buildings of worship. However, more and more people are actually starting to use stained glass in their homes because it offers a more unique and brilliant, off the trodden path means of decorating their homes. And let’s face the facts: normal windows can be boring in every room of the home.
Some homes – like the ones that you would see featured in the major home and gardening magazines – are starting to put stained glass windows in the living rooms and other major in-home thoroughfares, instead of larger, and less private and intimate picture windows. Perhaps, the most exciting part about having stained glass windows in a home is during the daytime, when the sunlight passes through the colored panes and decorates the interior of your home with beautiful, colored rays of light.
