Tiffany Glass is a Work of Art
My ex has this wonderful Tiffany style glass lamp. I thought it was a piece of art. He thought it was a lamp that worked. I guess not everyone can appreciate the true beauty of Tiffany glass.
Louis Comfort Tiffany managed to create outstanding and stunning lamps and other glass objects. He changed how people saw glass and art. Everyday object like a lamp could also be an exquisite piece of artwork. Stained glass windows were seen as beautiful. I think that what Tiffany created was beyond beauty. It was a completely new art form. He even created the methods to produce the glass needed to give his work its unique and unusual depth and textures.
His pieces were useful art that made a statement on how creative we can be. Who would have thought to use glass as a medium to create works of art that rivalled or surpassed that done on canvase. Tiffany glass changed how people viewed what could be created in this medium. His handcrafted glass works are more popular than ever. I have several pieces myself and consider them treasures.
