decorative glass                   Decorative Glass

Yesterday my cat was chasing a fly and knocked off my favorite piece of decorative glass. I have been collecting decorative glass for years, and yesterday I was laughing at the cat chasing a fly around the house. He was jumping and flying over the furniture with lightening speed and I thought it was hilarious. Right about the point when I decided that I’d kill the fly and give the cat a little peace, I heard a crash. I knew that it couldn’t be good, especially since it was coming from the room where my decorative glass is on display.

When I entered the room, the cat nor the fly were anywhere to be seen, but shattered on the ceramic tile floor was my favorite piece of decorative glass. My first reaction was to scream at the cat, but I knew that it wasn’t his fault. After all, he’s just following instinct and didn’t intentionally break anything, but I was heartbroken. I sat on the floor and cried, picking up the pieces of the decorative glass and hoping that it could be salvaged, but it was beyond that. Lying amongst the remains of what use to be my favorite piece was the fly. Looked like the kitty got his prey after all.
