Give your front entrance a makeover with stained glass |

I was watching hgtv (again) and happened across an episode of Curb Appeal. I don't watch that show often, but I happened along a good episode. Usually when they fix up the front of a person's house, they don't jazz up the front door with stained glass. But they happened to be working on an old Victorian home and the front door had a large plain glass panel in it. The transom had a similar plain glass panel in it, so the designer took the homeowner to a stained glass shop and they worked with the artists there to create a new front door and transom that would better suit the old Victorian.
I got distracted with other things so I missed the reveal, but from what I saw of the stained glass panel in the door and the glass they were looking at for both the door and transom, it looked to be a very pretty stained glass door. I've often thought about doing the same thing for my place (when I get it that is). My biggest concern would be security because I grew up in Chicago so I tend to be a bit paranoid when it comes to things like that. But I absolutely love the look of a door inlaid with glass, especially if it's stained glass. Which is why I know I'm going to have a huge personal debate on my hands when I get my first place. Do I go with a plain door, or do I get a door with stained glass in it?
