I have always loved stained glass. The designs and combination of colors are always spectacular, especially when the glass catches the sunlight. I have been in many beautiful churches and I am in awe of the artistry and design of stained glass. In the past, I have bought small picture frame type stained glass decorations for my home. I had one in particular that I loved. It was hung by my kitchen window and it was a hummingbird. It really cheered me up, when it was rainy and gloomy outside in the winter. I was thrilled when one of my sons took up stained glass in high school for a semester. It was one of his fine arts requirements. He truly enjoyed it and he found out what a skill it is to master. He knew my fondness for stained glass, so his final project was going to be my Mother's Day gift. I still have my gift of stained glass sitting on my bedroom window ledge. It is a toucan in a tree. You can’t get more colorful than that.
