Stained Glass May Be a Dying Art |

Past art exhibits, some museums but mostly churches, stained glass is hard to come by. I think we can all agree of the beauty a single stained glass panel can evoke when the light hits it just right, exploiting the hand crafted colors and piece’s story. As jaw dropping as stained glass can be it is becoming a lost art. I’m not in the stained glass world but from a layman who appreciates it, the only time I ever see it anymore is at cathedrals and places of worship. I can’t remember the last home I saw with stained glass adorning the front entry. Maybe it has something to do with the price. I have no idea what this art costs but it would make a lot of sense if it was expensive.
I don’t think stained glass will ever be a completely lost art form because so many churches utilize it’s beauty but I wouldn’t mind seeing it in more places. Stained glass gives a feeling of age and history. It is such an old technique, I will have no problem including into my first home.
