stained glass, stained glass panel The beauty of stained glass really shines though when some form of light showcases the handcrafted detail. I was reminded of this the other day when driving to a local golf course. Along the way, there is an old cathedral style church with two large stained glass panels adorning the left and right side of the entrance doors. Standing at, I would guess ten feet tall and a few feet wide the stained glass offered almost a religious experience at the moment I was passing by because the sun was hitting it just right. The picture of Jesus with his hands outstretched almost looked like he was saying “Take what I have to give to you,” to me.

Normally I would have past right by this church with a quick head turn to look at it but on this day there was electrical work being done on the side of the road creating one traffic packed lane. We were moving at a crawl so the beauty of the stained glass panels in the afternoon sun really was hammered home. I bet all the passersby felt like I did staring at the artwork within the cathedrals stained glass panels. The experience must have rubbed off on my golf game because I hit for par.
