Adding Personality to a Home with Stained Glass |

If we are not careful, it is really easy in life to go with the flow, move into a cookie cutter house, drive the standard car of the time and dress to fit in. I would much rather keep some individuality and live outside of the box. Some things in life are worth following the crowd with but when I own my first home here is where I’ll be able to show some personality. I grew up in a neighborhood with cookie cutter type homes. From the outside, our house looked like a few others coming up our street but inside it was unique. That was partly because of renovations and partly because my mom incorporated things she enjoyed like stained glass.
There were three skylights above our kitchen-dining nook. My mom started by switching out one of the window panes for a stained glass panel and after liking it so much swapped out another leaving the center skylight clear glass. Unless someone sat down at our table, they would have never seen the stained glass but it added character to our home.
