stained glass


My youngest daughter has always been the artsy craftsy child. With her I am able to explore my own missed childhood opportunities. My daughter and I have enjoyed doing things like making tye dye t-shirts, painting bird houses and then putting them outside in a tree with bird seed in them and watching the feeding frenzy. We have made edible jewelry and permanently colored a jeweled box to hold my daughter's treasures. Our latest endeavor was working with stained glass. I truly believe I like doing the artsy craftsy things as much as she does!

The stained glass kit came with all the pieces of brightly colored glass broken up into workable sizes. My daughter and I then arranged them into different shaped pallets. I worked on a square shaped piece while she did a hectagon. We spent a good week working on those stained glass plaques. After the adhesive was dry we sprayed them with a clear glaze so they could be used outdoors. Today those beautiful pieces of stained glass artwork are proudly displayed in the garden.
